For the last couple months my 89 SWB has been on the back burner and I've been working on this 91 Long wheel base model that I bought from another member of this forum (grasscat). Anyways here's the Specs.
91 gen I Mitsubishi Montero LWB Auto with 195K miles
Mods:
96 Mitsu Montero rear end with air locker and disk brakes
Gen II Trailing arms
Gen II front brake conversion (dual piston calipers)
ARB front winch bumper
12K Milemarker electric winch
Snorkel
Herculined lower body panels
33x12.50 BFG Mud Terrains mounted on 15x8 alloys
In the works:
Sliders
Rear bumper
Heavy duty skidplates (Gas tank and T-Case first)
Aussie crawler gears
Front Locker (ARB or Aussie)
Possibly a custom roof rack but I can use the Surco unit I have for the time being.
This build will stay relatively mild, that way I can use it for family trips and It will let me get a little more wild with the 89 SWB.
Heres some pics:
Here it is pretty much as it was when I got it:
Next to my 95 that I sold soon after:
I slapped some 33's on it the next day and took it on a shake down run
It was missing the rear bumper so I put the old front bumper from my 89 on the rear after a bit of ghetto fabbing:
Took it out for a test run:
