My 99 Pathfinder

Up until 2.5 years ago we were a one car family, I had finally convinced my wife to get a second vehicle. I looked around for quite a while hoping to get a 3rd gen Toyota 4Runner but couldn't find any in my price range. Then out of the blue my friend at a dealership let me know that he had a customer that just traded in a 99 Pathfinder with 117k Kms on the odometer. After a quick test drive I returned with a cheque and I had my first new to me 4x4. Since I didn't have any maintenance records or know of it's previous history apart from what came up in the car proof I had some preventative maintenance done, I had an alignment done, and changed all of the drive belts along with the timing belt. Soon after I got a new set of nokian vatiiva tires (265/70/15) installed. Apart from replacing the stock CD/Tape player this is how it looked for about 2 years.

Then I decided that I wanted to replace the stock shocks and struts, that's when I stumbled onto this website, I wanted to hopefully transform this into a light exploration vehicle that I could use to go camping and hopefully someday do a bit of light offroading. I decided on an OME suspension kit. However I ended up getting the LD front springs, which didn't bother me too much until I saw other lifted pathfinders and their lack of rake (Re: Lecoq's rig)

Even though the Nokian tires were pretty new (~18000kms) I wanted to get a beefier set of tires. So I called up a local tire shop and got a set of 31 inch duratracs on black steel wheels.

My first wheeling trip I met Lecoq and some of his friends, a great group of guys and I'm learning a ton from them. Here's a couple pics from my first wheeling trip. It was short but afterwards I was hooked!!

I ordered a set of HD OME springs that should minimize the rake and hope to install those pretty soon, also got a set of Rigid Dually's that need to be mounted. In the near future hope to have a set of sliders and skids too.

Thanks for the welcome and before I forget, a big thank you to Russellh for his idea on how to mount the roof basket without the factory crossbars
