So i am Newish to Overlanding. Always been a big fan of camping, outdoors... I am also a gear head and crazy about Toyotas! So why not combine two passions into one Epic Passion!
So first things first I had to buy a 4x4 4runner. I really wanted a limited and then rip off the side steps but fate had me find a good SR5 that was a little hard to pass up. It Had Highish millage 230000 but I have been working on cars since i was really young so it didnt scare me to far away.
I just happened to be looking at Craigslist at the right time to snap up The Famous Mr. Leary 4runner. Little did I know how awesome it was until after I had already had a deposit on it and sent a pick to my friend to show him the truck I was going to buy if it checked out. She passed with only minor concerns of things that needed attention.
Since My ridge is already built and has 230k the main thing has been Maintenance. What I have done so far is
Replaced carpet (Leary crossed a lot of H20 and it didn't always stay out of the truck)
Front passenger drive shaft
Spark plugs,
valve cover gaskets,
Intake Gaskets,
rear brake cylinder
tires
and Oil... all the Oil
Since 02/14 I have done a good chunk of Glamping, Hit up Hidden Falls, Half of the Hill country route, and did Toyota Jambo which started my first experience with a Broken drive shaft.
It has been fun and real, and figure a couple people might wonder what happened to this Epic truck So I will be showing you my adventures and the life of this truck
And yes this is the Runner in the water winching a stuck trailer and Ford Raptor into the water to get that boat in!
