Stuck in the Mud
Well, like everyone else, I wanted a trailer to haul behind the Jeep - M416, M100, et al. Prices for good ones in New England are ridiculous, ones I could afford had no bed floor left. Thought about a US M101, but they are heavy. I really just need a safe, secure place to put my doors and other items I do not need on the trail, and this should work perfectly.

I went a similar route:

I was able to buy it for $100 off (making it $329) because the powder coating on the fenders failed. I'll be boxing in the floor and sides with red painted wood (here is the tailgate):

So, first off: a spring under conversion. Here is the factory spring under:

After the spring over mod:

Ahh much better:

One nice thing about this trailer is that the lug pattern is 5x4.5 - same as YJ, TJ and other Jeeps, so larger wheels/tires are no sweat. I'll wear these out first (maybe
).
Next up, cut and paint the front, sides and floor, and building a hinged cover for it. The exterior will be bright red, the interior will be bed lined. I'm leaving the mesh sides and floors for protection, and I like the looks. The idea is that it looks like a piece of firefighting equipment in the end, as it will sit at a fire station while I'm out exploring and I think it less likely to be tampered with. More to follow, stay tuned...
