I've posted this picture before, sorry about that. But, this is why. This time last year I was on a spontaneous dream trip. 40 days up to the NW. 40 days of play time. I left on August 15 and returned home (Tucson) on Sept 23. I kept a daily journal and right now I just finished reading it. Reading where I was exactly a year ago. Which was Portland. Picked my van up from a diesel repair shop due to a fuel leak. I stayed at my brothers for a few days and couldn't wait to leave. Anyway, I guess thats only relevant to me. Along with my journal I also kept track of expenses. I just added it up and it came in at just under $2200. Thats not including the repair bill. ($536). I slept in the van everynight, normaly ate one meal out a day, nothing fancy. Showered at marinas, camp grounds, fitness centers, lake Shasta(LOL) couple rivers..etc. I think $2200 is very resonable. Thats $55 a day. Of course I wasn't driving big miles everyday. I normally stayed in a town for several days and used the motorcycles to get around. Anyway, maybe this can inspire some of you. I wish I could do this next summer but I have a job lined up for next summer. Sorry, don't have the total miles written down.
