My new Disco

:wings:

Just picked it up yesterday.

1995 Disco 1 in Expo White. 5 Speed :smiley_drive: and only 79K miles :Wow1:

It seems the original owner took really good care of it, paint is still glossy, low miles, this isn't to say it is perfect, as there is a list of things that need to be repaired.

I will update with more info and pics later, I am running out the door for work.

Pics... It needs to be washed

That's pretty good condition. I wish we could find stuff like this in Canada, but unfortunately salt does it's damage always.

Nice looking truck! Nice work getting the tasteless adornments off of it. Turbo?ha Hope the kid didn't rag on it too much.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments! :victory:

Awesome!

And a texas truck to boot (should be no rust).

Well not totally rust free, but damn near! A small bit in the rear passenger door jamb. Gotta hit that with the dremel and wirebrush then put on a rust stopping primer. Also some on the lower rear door hinge. Looks like the underbody is rust free though :sombrero:

Yeah, on the 300mi trip home with it yesterday I passed at least 4 discos in austin/ San Antonio, all I could think was these guys must think I'm a douch kid with "Turbo" on the back, bling fender vents and massive "look at me" wiper blades :smilies27.

Also, it looks like the Disco has changed hand at least two other times in the last year. From the ( I suspect) original owner to a used car dealership, then from the used car dealership to the guy I bought it from. I don't think the tweaker I bought it from knew anything about rovers at all, he seemed to think the "Turbo" emblem on the back was factory and the engine was truely a "Turbo". It seems ( and I truely believe) the guy sold it because he was flat out broke, he had only had the truck for 2 months prior. The fuel light was on when I test drove her, and he kept making up stories about people who were coming to see the truck that very day, not even normal stories... odd off the wall stories ( people flying in from out of the country with "inheritance" money ).

I am thinking that the used car dealership put on the "bling" and Turbo emblem, in an attempt to make the Disco look more appealing? They came right off, no paint fade lines around them so they haven't been on very long at all.

One cool note, the original owner kept pretty good records. Basic, but good. So there is record of milage going back a decade. Also, the leather bound owners binder is damn cool!

Pull the carpet up in the front and make sure the foam under it is not wet and there is no surface rust or holes in the floor. Do the same in the rear floor.

I picked her up in Austin.... She now resides in Corpus Christi. She's going to start getting regular treatments of FluidFilm to keep the salty air at bay.
