My New First gen Dodge

JKIslander

Observer
This truck is not going to be an expo truck, I have a JK if I want to wheel. This classic is going to be my around the house truck to make home depo runs and haul trash and furniture. 2 door jeeps arent cut out for this, ive learned. It will also serve as our 2nd 4wd in the snow. Yes my wife actually likes it and wants to drive it, and thats half the battle.

Ok Details!

Its a 1979 Dodge ram 150 power wagon adventurer. Its an east coast truck so almost every body panel, including the cab per the PO has been replaced. For an east coast truck it is nearly rust free. Only the drivers can corner and the steps on the stepside have rust. Mint rockers solid floors that have been bedlined. All new metal brakelines to so no rust there.

Drive train is a rebuilt 360, mild cam, headers, edlebrock intake and holley 650 4bbl. Has the 3 speed auto, does anyone know if this year the trans is a 727 or by then were they the 900 series? It also is a fulltime 4wd set up which is nice, no getting out to put it 4wd but im pretty sure these arent the stoutest of units. It does make tight turns interesting :)
It has I believe the d44 front and I was told it was a 9 1/4 rear but I think it could be an 8 3/4. Gotta get underneath and look deeper but Still have snow on the ground.

Inside is mostly stock but the PO decided to paint the dash and door panels spray paint bedliner black. It looks decent but i am a keep it stock kind of guy So ill work on that. Only the vaccum guage and speedometer work So gotta do a little digging there. One of the coolest things about the truck is somewhere in its life it aquired a tan leather split bench seat with arm rests. extremely comfortable and quite possibly the coolest thing about the truck is it has my sons name on the headrests. Now this may not be to unusual if my sons name was more common like John or Dave but no, whats my sons name?:

Pretty unusual. Ive tried to figure out what this came out of, its definitely not a Lincoln zephyr, way to big and old. I did find on the google that there was a zephyr conversion company so it possibly came out of a van or some such, or its an incredible custom coincidence.

Ok more pictures, sorry theyre cell phone shots digitals dead, also apologies for forgetting the obligatory motor shot, but i think you know what a small block looks like, imagine that other then the PO painted the block green.
