My restoration to a Disco Trek Discovery

I bought #5 2003 TRek Disco (LR of NDade) back in Nov and have had The Shop in Ga address all extensive motor/mechanical work to get all of the issues a 83k mile Disco would have. The list is extensive but head gaskets, powersteering, diffs and almost all leaks of all proportions have been addressed. I have added a oil cooler (that it should have come with but does not) and Tom Woods drive shafts, QT motor mounts, replaced the headliner and most all worn parts, much body plastic, replaced all fluids etc.... I am in process of having Rovertym/RTE in NC install Front and rear custom RTE bumpers and the RTE Complete 3inch lift Kit and several more of their suspension /steering goodies, removing all the factory air suspension crap and adding BFG KM2 Mudterrains x 6 (roofrack spare and rear spare). All wheels are getting refinished Factory Trek Black by RVR Barn also in NC, who will head up all final body /paint work/Wetsanding and polishing and Better than Factory New Trek Decals and installation as well as finishing all the details. I have purchased GBR custom valved Bilstein Res Shocks, new Warn 7in lights for the bumper to compliment the Factory Warn Roof rack lighting, a new Old man emu Steering stabilizer, the infamous Chick coop Roof rack flooring, as well as new Fiskar tools to complete this project. I hope to have her back in Ga in a several weeks.

My goal was to keep the Trek stock looking but to add all the goodies to take it to the level LandRover should have from a true off road aftermarket perspective. I will have all stock parts kept for resale.
This Trek will see plenty of offroad and camping and will be my main trans in the Southwestern North Carolina/North Ga area. Many thanks go out to The Shop, RTE Fabrication and RVR Barn for making this project fun as well as exciting. I have learned how very close and tight the LandRover community truely is. I will have pics in several more weeks. Also want to thank Matt and JD, 2 other Trek owners for ideas and support in the Trek Community. Finally, 2 more that I must thank are Todd H and Jeffery F, fellow North Ga Disco 2 and Disco 1 owners that somehow convinced me to swallow the LR Disco Bait....:Wow1:

Thanks Dendy- and David as well!!
I got to see the truck the other day retrieving rims for paint and tires while on the rack at RTE. She is sweet, and woefully makes me want one or two of my old TReKs back:)
Glad to see you on here David- great site for sure, and good guys with lots of knowledge. Now we just need to get you to Safari in April. And you too Dendy- come on over and bring Scott(if he's back from the Orient), Chris, and Kelly

Update 2/5 the wheels are repainted and the lift goes on tomorrow. I have decided to re powdercoat the roof rack as removal will make it easier for a complete topside wet sand and polish.

Dale's majic from the wheel refinisher. BFG KM2 Mudterrain 285 75 16 rubber on these. The rough wheels will be used for the spares :)

here is what a Trek looks like right after RTE/RoverTyms 3inch lift kit is installed. It will settle a bit and once the bumpers are on be perfection.

It will settle a bit and the weight of the bumpers will drop it a tad....I like it and that is all that matters right? I think the camera on the first shots make it look taller than it really is. Once I get it bumpered and balanced with correct stance it will be where I want it. Here is another shot from slightly more distance.
