my rig(s)

Here's my ZJ. Originally had it going down the road of dedicated trailer queen and was building towards the upper end of rock crawling. The hard stuff is still fun, but I really enjoy the exploration aspect of where a vehicle like this can take me, so some things have been getting changed to make it handle multi-day trips much better. Basically I want to be able to handle anything but the ultra-extreme trails and be able to do it for days on end. We've got a trip planned next summer in SW Colorado, should be about 400 miles out of Buena Vista, with > 80% of that off pavement.

Basic stats:
95 ZJ
231 w/ SYE
5.2 V8
HP30 front, 8.8 rear, 4.56's, Aussie in the rear (was a spool until a few weeks ago, pulled the spool in favor of better streetability with the Aussie)
Clayton's Long Arms
4.5" RE Springs
35" BFG KM's (KM2's coming this spring)

You can see pretty quickly some of the reasons its current form would not work very well as an expedition rig!

Jeep is usually pulled by this on a 16' trailer:

01 F250 7.3
DP Tuner
AFE Stage II Intake
BTS Tranny

Usually accompanied by the wife's rig too:

98 ZJ
3.5" RE coils and a Frankenlift (RE, JKS, and KOR)
32" BFG AT's
Aussie Locker out back too.

So I figure between the two ZJ's we can get quite a bit done, and could also take the truck if we needed to.

My ZJ should be enclosed by this spring, with some custom storage inside. The wife's rig will probably have a custom storage box in the back as well. Also plan on building a kitchen box that can fit in any of the 3 rigs. We were going to build a trailer either from scratch or off an M416, but to do it the way I want to do it I figured I'd be in it 5 g's and I got a lot better things I can spend that kinda coin on!
