Been meaning to get up there for awhile, and today was the day. computeruser was with me and took most of the pics. Only one snag, and I think thats pretty good considering the only mod to my truck is the tires, Was falling through some ice at a hole. Just lost the front end, but it ended up resting on the trans cross brace. After about an hour of come-a-longing it and getting no where, a few jeeps rolled up and snatched us out...

Enjoy...

Well, theres always a wish list. Its got to stay a daily driver and my work commute is only 6 miles round trip, and thats when I actually drive to work.

I really want to take full advantage of the trail system here in MI, both the LP and the UP. Most of our trails are fire roads. Im not much interested in mudding or anything like that...I enjoy the expedition aspect...being totally self sufficient on the trail.

Currently Im in the process (in my head right now anyway) of designing better front and rear bumpers. I need more, stronger recovery points and Id like to incorporate the hitch into the rear. Not much out there in the way of aftermarket for the Colorado, and I enjoy fabbing things so its a win win for me. I had it lifted 2" above stock for awhile...but returned it to stock until I can find a better way to lift it. I dont need much, and was quite surprised at how easily I got around with the stock susp. height.

Other than that...Nothing major...Ill probably get into it more when my son and daughter get a little older and I can take them camping for a weekend. I learned alot on this outing as far as what I need, and what I dont have.

Looks like a fun drive.:smiley_drive:

It was...Everything frozen made it for a realitively tame trip. I look forward to when its thawed out. The ice all over the place kept me out of places I knew I could go otherwise for fear of breaking things that dont need to be broken.

I like what youve done with your truck and Ill follow your posts.

I did Mounds a few times when i used to live in Windsor, Ontario.
I went with my local (at that time) Jeep club.
It was always a good day's fun, except one time when i got stuck in a deep mud 'n ice hole, and a buddy came up from behind with his YJ and promptly broke through the ice i had just passed over and ended up stuck worse than me.
He was getting winched back and some ice blockaded against his rear axle, pushing it forward, and consequently his rear drive shaft forward and into his transfer case. And we found out the transfer case was the week point... :(
He got flat-bedded home that day.

We also saw a guy in a Scrambler break through some ice with the front of his vehicle. He pulled his shirt off and went diving in with a friend's winch line + hook to try and get yanked out. I didn't stick around to see the end of that one, but apparently it was a long process!!! lol
