I had an F150 crew cab and we were fine. Most of the time we will only have 5 in the truck. Only exception is Sundays when we go to Church. My wife doesn't like camping. So when we head to the woods it will be me and my 3 boys. My wife and daughter will be staying home.

Was the 2000 model year within that recall that had to do with the cruiise control being "on" 100% of the time?
I vaguely remember something about leaking brake fluid from the booster dripping onto the cruise control module and starting fires...

Uggh; before I was enlightened on all the ways of 4Runner, I was a total Ford Super Duty nut. My '02 V-10 F-250 actually caught on fire in the driveway while I was cleaning the interior, and I caught it before it really took off. The culprit was the cruise control switch on the end of the master cylinder; the port leaked brake fluid which traveled down the cruise control wires and dripped right onto the exhaust headers.

This happened to me RIGHT before they issued the huge recall on the trucks. Sucks to hear your Ex became a crispy critter. Good luck with your replacement!

Go for the Sequoia, 4runner will be super tight even with a trailer, but it'll work and its way easier to drive in more confined areas. I swear I'm not biased to either of these choices.:coffeedrink:

My LC with 34's and armor gets 13-15 in city, and 17 on highway. I drive it like a bat out of hell to.

It's a 4.7 V8, far nicer, and far more reliable than the Seq's 4.7 american built V8.

I say look into a Tundra, I just got a 2006 Double cab 4x4 with 36000 miles for a good price as a family truck! Granted I only have a couple week old son, it will be a vehicle that can grow with my family! I think there would be more than enough room for you and your sons, depending on how tall of a family you have, they should fit just fine in the rear, I am 6'7" and when I push the front seat up a little, there is still enough room for me in the back of the cab! My wife enjoys riding in the back with little man and she is 5'8" and we only put the front seat up a very little bit! I say Tundra!!

here is what i have found?

I have found an 01 double cab Tundra Limited TRD 4x4, 4.7 V8 with 176,000 miles. The dealer wants $8,800. Is this a good price? I'm thinking of offering about $6,000.

I think the air manifolds are different specs and have different engine ratings (and ECU is different &c &c) but I can't imagine that's what the poster was saying about reliability?

I made a deal!

Well here is the good news and the bad news. The good news is I have a new truck. The bad news it is not a Toyota Tundra. I went to look at the Tundra I mentioned previously and they had sold it. So much for trusting them to hold it, like they said. But they did throw me a bone. I got a 2006 dodge Ram 1500 for $8500. So i guess it all evens out in the end. Ya'll have a good life, see ya on the flip side!

Hey man, seriously check on that recall. I owned a 2003 F250 and got a letter in the mail about 2 months ago saying there is a recall and that the truck can catch fire at any time due to the cruise control.
