Mysterious engine plug??

Can someone please tell me what this plug connects to? I have looked everywhere and I can find where it goes to. It looks like the wire hangs down.

Ahh, you are lucky its been removed, that is where the Rover portable ATM machine connects to drain your account without you noticing. i believe it was replaced by poor gas milage as an option.

Sometimes there are connectors lying loose that are for different engine options or some option that you don't have.

Yes, it is a 2000 Disco II 4 litre motor.

Seriously, mine has similar plugs on each side of the engine bay which go to the factory fog lights. Mine doesn't have them so they just hang there, like yours.

It is not for the fog lights as they work. This is not a liquid cooling line, it's electric. It comes of a main bundle. One goes to the Knock sensor and the other just hangs there???

Has your oil pressure light ever come on? Almost looks like the location of an oil pressure sender, but I doubt that is the case.

I have the GEMS 4.0 in a 1996 Disco I , I went out and looked and I have AC and looks as if its a connection for that. Otherwise I have no additional connectors in that area.

Hmm. I've looked in Rave and still can't find it.

I'll check if it's the oil pressure sender plug or maybe a electric fan switch..
