Is the National Luna dual battery system the best, or are there better alternatives I should look into?

Thanks!

I don't know which is best...

mine is also solid state. I went with the Hellroaring unit. Again, very small form factor. I've had it for 1.5 years now and haven't had a problem yet. Not affiliated in any way, just a very satisfied customer.

I haven't used anything else, but I am very pleased with the National Luna setup. It does everything for you, and the real-time in cab monitor is super nice.

Ditto, i went with the same setup and feel it superior/more reliable than anything out there! Read this for why: http://www.perfectswitch.com/whypgate.htm

One of the features that grabbed my attention was "Fully encapsulated stainless steel package is weather-proof, shock-proof, and vibration-proof. " which is paramount for the conditions my rig sees!

These folks think outside the box (almost all the "other brands" are basically the same system just re-labeled) and these are the units used by OUR MILITARY in Hummers and such under the harshest of conditions!

I was a big fan of the "Manual" setup using the boat switch, but figured i would try something different since i will have much more acc. on the 100!

Customer Service is top notch too!

This is slick, i might be adding that "feature" to my setup as well!

I only have experience with the Luna, but I can say it was super easy to install. It also works exactly as advertised.
Check out my install thread in the 12v and solar section.

I've set up quite a few different units for customers and run the NW Wranger setup in my Cruiser... when it came time for dual bats in the Tacoma, the Nat. Luna kit was the best option. I've never had a solenoid fail on any other charging systems, and even if it did it would be extremely easy to "field fix", and the Nat. Luna dual battery monitor and controller is extremely practical, both in function and reliability IMO.
