I am lookng for a diffrent way to get from GJ to Page Az. I need to get out of the snow and try out my new rtt. I plan on leaving in a few days and stop in GJ to get some new tires then head to Page AZ to vist some buddies there. I want to do something diffrent then I have done in the past. I have traveled smoky mountain rd. (great trip by the way) once by moto and loved it. All the other times I have taken the highway trough Moab and by mexican hat. I would love to take as much dirt road as possible and have no problems taking a few days to get there and back. I know it's the desert but if I could camp by a river and do some fishing I feel it could be good for my soul at this point. I have serched and made some notes of other treads and I seem to keep ending up finding roads traveling the west side of the lake and I figure there must be some interesting spots on the east side, I have never seen monument valley so that would be interesting to me. I will be driving my diesel truck with about 300-350 miles per tank do you guys/girls know if the marinas have diesel fuel? I can't wait to get out of work and to someplace with out all this snow and mud. :26_16_2:

I believe that most alternatives start on the west side of Green River. Soon afterward, you can exit into the Land of Sibad south to Goblin Valley, west to Little Wild Horse Canyon, south on the Notom Road to the Burr Trail and cut through the Staircase to Big Water. After Green River, 75% can be dirt. Stop at the Visitor Center in Escalante for road reports through the Staircase. Don't forget to filter the "park speak". Enjoy
