Need material recomendation on RTT flooring

My RTT has softened in one corner under the hinge, it's needing replacement.

I'm kinda lost on all the choices that seem to be available, pressure treated, birch, marine plywood etc. What did you use or would suggest?

I'll be honest, i'll be selling the RTT after I repair it but I want it repaired well. From what I read Birch seems to be the strongest choice of hardwood plywood and I plan to cover with vinyl sheet.. would that suffice?

Baltic Birch is some of the best you can buy. It is expensive but it is highly mildew resistant and works very well for what you've described.

I'd second Baltic Birch, it has consistent layers and can be purchased with no plugs in it. 1/2" can be bought pre coated with polyurethane, 3/4" needs to be coated. Seal any cut edges with polyurethane, and you should be good to go.

I'm not certain about the vinyl sheet under the mattress. This can cause moisture and condensation to get trapped and produce mold. I'd think I'd go without this option.

Appreciate your confirmation Martyn...

I did a lil reading on this material, seems it's all not created equal, You don't always get what your believe your buying. Knockoff's in everything nowadays.

A good Baltic Birch looks like what i'll be purchasing. Would many coats of a good varnish be a better coating?

Two coats of poly should be fine. There are various qualities of Baltic birch. We use 4L that has no filled voids on either side. Other qualities offer no voids on one side.

Anyone have a lead where I could actually purchase this Baltic Birch in the Philadelphia area?

I'm not having any luck with a distributor who will sell over the counter.

The local lumberyards I had called all wanted to sell the cheaper material with voids (same stuff as available at HD, Lowes etc), the distributor gave me a local source who could order it through them for me. Quoted $63 per 4x8 3/4" sheet, hope it's the right stuff.

Did you replace your floor? My mombasa floor (or top when closed) needs to be repaired and I am not sure where to begin.
