New Brakes all around for my DII

Brian,
I think they are fine for us. These products aren't new for our trucks at all and I have never heard of a DBA rotor cracking. Some idiot would have done it by now if it could be done on our trucks. I've had mine for four years without any ill effects. I should probably check my pads soon though...

Regarding the fluid. What I'm seeing is in fact normal, keep in mind it wasn't an absolute sudden drop, literally only halfway between the full and empty. I've done a lot of wheeling lately and the traction control has been really gettin' busy a lot. Also a bit of offcamber stuff so it's possible there is a slight leak out of the top.

I've had one experience with EBC Green pads, and it wasn't good. Brand new pads and rotors to start a trackday, my first trackday with the new turbo on the car. After about 60 minutes on track, the pads were completely gone and I was on the backing plates. Sparks flying off the brakes. I had to drive home like that, and destroyed the set of rotors as well.

As I mentioned in the other post, at that point I bought a Wilwood 4 piston brake setup with 12" floating rotors, vented, not drilled or slotted. I have a countless number of trackdays on the same set of rotors and pads, with even more power than before, and I can't even measure the wear.

I do have EBC pads on my motorcycle now, because I had no other choice really. Can't tell how they're doing yet.

One aspect of braking upgrades is that customers will ALWAYS feel the brakes are better no matter what new parts they put on. Old pads get worn in with a concave profile since they actually flex when the caliper pushes on them. There's also tapered wear, etc... Every time you apply the brakes everything moves around a little until the pads square up to the rotor. When you put new pads on, the surfaces are square again... at least for a few thousand miles. That's why they always feel better when new, no matter what you put on.

These aren't race cars they are heavy, slow(er) DII's. Apples to apples please.

Update

Hi,
It's been about four months since I installed these and I had a great chance to inspect the rears earlier this week while converting my SLS system to OME Coils.

Both of the rear rotors show very little wear and no signs of cracking or trauma.
I was also glad to see that the pads are healthy with lots of life in them. I did not measure their thickness but they still look like they may be in the 90% of original thickness.
