I've been looking for a Chevy or Ford with "factory" Pathfinder 4WD. Found this about 350 mile from home. 86 Ford E350 Quadravan with the 460. Locking hubs, C-6 tran, Dana front & rear diffs, leaf-spring suspension front and rear. Rear has overload spring, front axle has factory dual shocks, 4-inch factory lift. Heavy bumpers and Warn 12,000 winch with fairlead.
Roof rack is coming off and will be talking to a friend about installing Steel triangular tube and steel sheet "Sprinter" style roof.
The water pump went on the drive home and I had to trailer it the last 180 miles. Yeah, I know... driving home was not a good idea. I am looking at engine swap options. Hope to find a bolt in option that gets over 10 mpg! Currently replacing the water pump and thermostat, belts, hoses, cap & rotor, plugs and wires, oil & filter, air filter. Deleting the A/C, rear heat & unburnt fuel recirculating system nightmare (not sure what it's real the system is called).
A few pics: the van, blown water pump, the air box that bolts from the core support over the air pumps to return unspent carbon and air into the engine to reburn, and the engine bay with the two air pumps for that system on the left. This whole system covers the entire left side of the engine and makes everything a pain!
