New Expedition Tahoe Under Construction

Just wanted to show off my new expedition vehicle in training. It's a 2003 Tahoe Z71. So far I have added Ford keys and 285/70/17 Maxxis Bighorn tires. Furture mods include an ARB bumper with winch and Roof Top Tent. Thanks to 02TahoeMD for the inspiration. I'm also looking into aluminum double beadlocks off of a retired Border Patrol truck painted black or gunmetal grey. What do you think?

Welcome aboard...glad to be an inspiration to someone. Pretty rig, always liked the GM greys. I would consider removing the cladding / nerf bars to get higher clearance in the center, depends on where you wanna travel I guess.

Keep us updated on what you do.

Don't waste your time or money on the beadlocks; especially since I don't see this Tahoe hitting to gnarly of trails. Other than that, it looks like a good platform to start.

I would try to spend the money on Staun internal beadlocks, they will work with your stock wheels and if you ever bend or break a wheel, you can always pull out the Staun and throw the wheel away, then get a new wheel on craigslist cheap.

You should know that removing the nerf bars doesn't improve clearance! Also removing the cladding doesn't look good at all in my opinion. If this is just a trail rig a body lift with 35s would be your best bet for higher clearance. Also the replacement bumper gives you a better angle and more clearance in the front!
