Hey everyone! My name's Matt and after some frivolous googling in preparation for a new project, I stumbled across this forum and really liked what I saw (some just flat out suck). I'm from central ohio and and am currently an Airman 1st Class USAF, stationed at the 178th Fighter Wing in Springfield where I work as a firefighter. In my civilian life, I work for a public safety equipment company upfitting vehicles for Police, Fire, etc. and am currently finishing school for my EMT Paramedic certs.
I've built Jeeps before but being busy with college and work and kind of getting into the import tuning scene, I strayed away from my 4wd roots. I recently picked up a 98 Tahoe LT that's been in our family for the past 10 years or so (parents didn't want it anymore so I got it for a good price
) and am very eager to give it the TLC that it's been needing. The truck runs great and the tranny still shifts smooth despite 120k on the clock and many cross-country trips with a boat and trailer in tow, but being 11 years old it needs a little work in terms of replacing all the common wear items.
My list of plans is quite long right now, so we'll just have to see how the money plays out. I'd like to clear 35's (4-6" lift), replace the OEM bumpers and possibly regear, if not upgrade to 3/4 ton axles all together. While browsing before I registered, I saw 02TahoeMD's rig and it is more or less a guiding light as to the direction I'd like to go in.
Enough about me, it's picture time. Thanks for reading and I look forward to seeing what you all have to say! -Matt-
