Hey everybody,
New to the forum. Just wanted in introduce myself and show some pictures of my truck. I'm friends with Dwill817 on here.

86 Toyota Pickup X-cab
-22r, 5spd.
-31x10.50R15 Falken Ziex s/tz04

I'll have to get a new picture up one of these days. Me and Drew (Dwill817) did the ZUK mod last weekend and cranked the T-bars to match.

Ok thanks for the advice. The clutch catches about midway through the stroke. It has trouble going into 3,5 & reverse. It's not at all undrivabe just a bit annoying at times.

Hmm...you could try changing the trans oil...that fixed difficult shifting when cold on my parents' '98. You probably have the G52 trans. It's not the best Toyota transmission (but not the worst either). Have another look at the clutch system. Are you losing any fluid? Any air in the system? Maybe try bleeding it, just for grins.

Here's a forum thread about someone working through a tough-shifting G52.

They remedied it with a new clutch pressure plate.

If you have a good Toyota yard nearby, the W56 trans is a popular upgrade and an easy swap. Then maybe put on a different clutch pack while you have it apart, if you go this route.

We talked about this on the phone today. I would already have a new clutch, pressure plate, and throw out bearing in but Kyle doesn't have a way to get it to my shop from the local auto shop.

He (the local automotive shop) got it on the rack today so maybe it'll be fixed tomorrow.

It was the master cylinder on the clutch. Had it replaced today. I had the proportion valve bypassed also so no more fluid leak.

Yeah it was the brake proportion valve. Not the clutch. I had to just have it bypassed new ones were really hard to find... Never did find one just heard talk of them. They are apparently known for being scares an costly.
