Hola folks, NG here. My name is James, comming to you from Albuquerque NM. Been around the other two Merc forums for a while. I thought I'd try someting new here. It looks like a great forum.

I am a long time UNIMOG freak, recently seduced into the Gelaendewagen world. I currently own a 1992 U1550L37 DOKA, in the midst of a mild restoration followed by a camper build. I also own Rob Pickering's old yellow 404 "rockmog" and a 2000 463 Gelaendewagen.

I look forward to a new set of minds to pick and share with.

Cheers -James

Welcome. I love Mogs myself. Enough to have acquired one new almost 3 yrs ago.
How did you get a U1550 in the country from such a recent vintage. Maybe I shouldn't ask and you shouldn't answer.

Wow, 2 Unimogs and a Gwagon! Welcome to the forum, I just backed out of a purchase of an older 460 "300 GD", it was mis-represented and I am still crying over the loss of soemthing I didn't even have. My all time favourite vehicle is the Gelaendewagen, hands down.

Thanks guys, believe me I feel fortunate to have this line up. I have have had a line of mogs over the years and feel really good about the ones I have ended up with now. A crawler and an over the road camper is really the ideal best of all worlds UNIMOG set up.

Charlie, I have always admired your U500 UNICAT. What a nice rig man. The import of my '92 was, well difficult. An almost 5 year venture that has been anything but easy. My story though is as hard as it can get, most aren't so difficult. Just need to talk to willing knowledgeable folks who can hold your hand through the process.

This is a very cool forum guys, look forward to it.
