Sorry for the late reply, ya no problem.
We will be back in that area again and could meet up with you.
We have a trip planned for the Arctic next year so I'm pushing to get all the mods finished before we go.
I'll be gone another trip mid Oct. which will be a bit cold but, were we are going are natural hot springs.

The rack in the back cost me a total of $ 2.00.
The rack is built out of scrap steel and powder coated at a buddies shop.
The original rack was to be made out of one piece aluminum sheet and punch out on our punch press machine and then bent and welded which would have been way less work.
Everything we do is first designed in Solid Works.
The front bumper was also fabbed.

Nice Jeep and nice rack. Where is your spare tire? I put a mild build on my daughters XJ and frankly, a good solution for the spare seems to involve finding a good compromise more than anything else.

I put the spare for now on the roof rack, it was on the rear but, I nearly ripped it off by hanging it up on a steep incline.
I normally don't climb up logs but, this gives and idea how the tire would hit the ground.
As it was the hinge is in the ground.

Here it is on the back mounted on a factory Jeep tire carrier which goes through bushings like crap through a goose. I building a new bumper and mounting thr tire back there again but, this time higher up.
