New Wild Boar Snorkel at SEMA

I'm pretty handy with fiberglass :).

I just finished a cold air intake cowl panel for the TJ/LJ that also supports snorkels. Haven't built a fiberglass snorkelt for it yet though...

Stop it. Every time I think you're done making something useful you pump out another one.

I just finished installing an Exogate last night and the Dinoot Extended trailer is on my radar as my next big purchase.

Now you show up with an integrated snorkel solution that doesn't involve cutting a hold in the side of my Jeep?

Just stop it, you're making everyone else look bad.

Have you had any interest from companies on this one?

Thanks for the Exogate decision, and get moving on the Dinoot - I'm sure you'll really enjoy that one!

Correct. No holes in the hood or fenders, so if you wanted to reverse the mod you could. There is a hole to be cut in the firewall to allow the ducting to pass from the engine compartment to the cowl area, but if you wanted to reverse that you could put a small plate over that hole and it would never show.

I haven't decided what I want to do with the Cool Cowl yet. I built it just because I thought it was an interesting idea that nobody had done yet and I thought it would be fun to do. I've already removed it from my Retro Wrangler pickup, I just threw it on there for a test fitting and some photos. I don't really have a need for it on my Jeep.

I do have a manufacturing cost estimate from a fiberglass manufacturer, but I haven't done too much to find a company that might be interested in marketing it yet.

As usual the quality of this piece, even being pre-production, is excellent.

Does your overall concept include the design of an add on snorkel? Or is it up to the end user to decide what method to employ?

The snorkel mock-up you posted on the first page reminds me of the snorkels you see on a lot of Rovers, like this one for instance.

It also looks like it would be an excellent base for the use of a River Raider Snorkel http://www.riverraider.com/store/TJ-Expedition-Snorkel which uses the same area for mounting and a similar snorkel top.

Also forgot to mention I own the LJ Locking box too. At this point my LJ should be sporting a JSCHERB logo as well as a JEEP logo.

Thanks!

Yes, I've got several designs. There are also two variations for the cowl panel - the one on my red Jeep is a "top port" panel, and earlier in the thread I've also posted a few "side port" photo edits (I haven't actually made a side port panel yet, but it's easy because it will be made in the same mold).

One of the side port designs I've done looks somewhat like the Wild Boar snorkel; it would be done in fiberglass and could be painted body color.

Yes, this cowl panel will connect directly to the River Raider underhood components.

Wow, thanks for that too! But if you really want the "JSCHERB" logo, you also have to install my CJ Grille Kit on your TJ/LJ Wrangler:

It's my current project. In the photo above, the custom fiberglass parts are bolted to a section of a TJ tub in my workshop... I'm doing a test install of the kit on my LJ right now.
