newb intro

First of all, great forum! I've enjoyed it a lot already. I have been lurking for some time now and finally got around to joining last month. I figured this is probably the most appropriate place to introduce myself and vehicle build. That being said, I've been into Land Cruisers for a while and post frequently on IH8MUD as VTCruiser. I recognize a lot of the screen names here actually so I can tell I'm not the only one!

A little about me...
I just graduated from Clemson with a degree in Mechanical Engineering but originally come from Vermont. Hobbies include working on cruisers, travel, photography, fly-fishing, hiking, camping...or just about anything outdoors.

A little about my rig...
I bought a Canadian-spec '86 HJ60 in 2003 with a blown 2H, and ended up swapping it our for a later model 1HZ from Japan. It's been a DD and wheeler since during my college days and was pulled off the road last fall for a resto after the rust had conquered. So it is currently back under the knife with a new body and frame from California and being built for overland travel. I hope to have it back on the road in June.
Preliminary build specs:
- 1HZ/H55F (to be turbo'd)
- FF rear axle, factory cable lockers
- 80-series coils, custom links
- 12V conversion

I have a tech oriented build thread on MUD, so feel free to check out the progress, and I'd love to hear your feed back! http://forum.ih8mud.com/expedition-builds/167721-project-overland.html

That shade of beige is truly the best factory colour for a 60 :)

Nice truck, but you need to get it out of Vermont. Lots of rust free states to choose from!

I'll check your thread on 'mud where I'm Cruiserdrew.

No kidding, but I'm in SC right now, so it won't be spending much time in VT.
