2.6L or 3.0L?

As for mods, your wallets your limit. What are you. Hoping to accomplish? What kind of wheeling will you be doing? In stock form they're already VERY capable.

It is the 3.0 v6. I was able to get the vehicle in trade of some work I did. It needed some new tires so I purchased some Cooper STT 31x10.50's. So all I have into it is the tires. Have a few thousand more to blow on it. Engine was completely Rebuilt 6,000 miles ago. Any suggestions on roof racks or bumpers? I am really trying to get a reliable 4x4 for my week long camping trips with the ability to handle most terrain. Thanks for any advice.

It looks great. You may want to consider getting an OME lift kit for it. I don't recommend it for the lift per-say, because it only adds about 1" of lift, but I highly recommend it for ride quality. The suspension is over 20 years old and it has seen better days. You're also going to want to add dual bouncy seats. They are a lot of fun.

like 4D55 said, new suspension is a must, plus the OME you can get in heavy duty too! looks like you already have manual hubs, which are prone to go out.

The gen1's are so capable offroad in stock form, you've got a good camping vehicle for sure. :sombrero:
