Hey guys, first post-er here after trying to search a bit on Jeepforum for snorkel info.
I have an 1988 Jeep Cherokee that is my Overlander in Progress. The specs are 4 inches front, about 3 in the back, new LCA's, surco roof rack, Custom front bumper and hitch in the rear. 235,75, R15 BFG All Terrains, Cherry Bomb exhaust, 5 speed and a few other interior changes.
My future will be evening out the lift to 4 inches front and rear, repainting because mine is fading, and black colors in Utah with no a/c is killing me. Next will be 31's and finally will be a snorkel. I do not do crazy offroading but like overlanding more to get me to the outdoors of camping, downhill biking, rafting, and just being adventurous.
The goals for the Jeep are lightweight (trim, no extra's of unneeded factory crap etc) great driving on highway/city, dirt roads to Class II/II.5 offroading, and maximized fuel efficiency.
ACTUAL SNORKEL QUESTIONS HERE:
Thanks for reading up to here, haha, my main questions now are about Snorkels. I know the positives of raised intake, mainly concerning flash floods and dirt intake living here in the desert of SLC, moab area, etc. But as mpg are also in mind, I have heard back and forth's about the gains and performance of a snorkel.
So, give it to me straight, dyno testing, personal experience, the works.
Thanks a ton in advanced, I look forward to this place!
