It's uncertain if the NV200 will be sold in North America. Nissan is planning to build
a larger van in Mississippi called the NV2500. If the Ford Transit Connect is a success,
I expect Nissan will import or build the NV200 here.

When released for Japan and Europe markets, the NV200 will be powered
by a 1.5L four cylinder diesel engine that produces 150 ft-lbs of torque. Nissan would
probably use a 2.0L gas engine for North America to handle the freeway driving common in USA.

The NV200 is a pretty large van. The cargo volume is about 145 cubic feet.
The new Ford Transit Express provides 125 cu ft. The Ford Econoline, in
comparison, provides 240 cu ft. According to Dodge, the short wheelbase Sprinter
with standard roof offers an amazing 318 cu ft of cargo space.

In 2007, Nissan presented a concept of how the NV200 might be used
as a diving photographer's rolling office.
