Nissan shows NV200 van

At the 2012 Chicago Auto Show, Nissan is showing the production version of the NV200 van. This front wheel drive vehicle is powered by a 2.0L gas engine and CVT transmission. No indication was given that the NV200 will be available with AWD.

The NV200 is only 186 inches long, about the size of a Honda Accord. But it has 123 cubic feet of cargo space inside, accessible by twin sliding rear doors. Cargo capacity is 1500 lbs.

Sounds like this could be the base for a 21st century version of the VW camper.

It's true, the Nissan NV vans have styling that seems inspired by a Black and Decker Dustbuster.

Instead of scuba equipment, think of how this would work for a camping kitchen on one side, and storage for your camp gear on the other.
