I'm on my second set on my daily driver DII. Good wear, reasonably tough. Excellent in snow and ice.

In off road use on the Land Rover LR3 (fairly heavy vehicle) that size has proven to be prone to flats, due to minimal sidewall height I think. LR3 owners typically use the 285/60/18 size, with MUCH better results. Another tire you should seriously consider is the Cooper Zeon LTZ. I think they ride better, and certainly have worn better than my Nitto's did.

I love Cooper, they stopped production of their 18inch weathermaster unfortunately. They had a terrible financial year but some of the best tires I've ever had

what are the size ranges for 16s on the D2?

I had that size terra grappler on my DII for a while. Very nice tires.

I've got them on my P38. They have held up very well. Slightly more noise than the original michelins but not bad.

I ran the Nitto 285/60/18 on my DII for about 4 years. They were great for mild off-road use. Got about 35K miles out of them as well. Loved em! Do check which one though as I think they have two load ranges for this tire size, that might be the difference between wear for a lot of folks.
