No front bumper on my Ext-Cab 2005 Tacoma 5 Lug?

So I want to remove the front bumper to get that Baja look, but college is killing my funds and I can't afford to spend $750 on a bumper.

Would it look terrible if I removed it and the front bumper guard and left it that way?

Has anyone ever done this lol?

No help on the bumper. But I think this could be the best education you ever get, for free. Make sure you get a degree that helps you to make good money when you get out of school. Being broke sucks.

If you take the bumper plastics off, you will need to keep the aluminum crash beam (what is under the plastic) on the truck to keep your collision air bags in working order. Other down side to removing that beam is that the movement / bounce of the frame will be larger and more exaggerated without that beam as a stiffening element.

You're better off just leaving the bumper alone, drive your truck the way it is and focus on school..... F### I'm starting to sound old, but really just removing it won't actually make it look any more like a desert truck, and if you end up in a low speed crash in the parking lot you'll be happy it's there, and why invite the possible run in with a local cop (while it probably wont break any laws as long as the aluminum bar is there, it will still attract unneeded attention).

Also link up with your local 4x4 club, if you're crafty for the cost of some sch 40 tube and a case of beer you could probably get an actual tube bumper welded up for you, and then you could sell your stock bumper.
