Well after a bout a year of fighting with my cherokee, I gave up and sold it expecting to get a 04+ F150. Stumbled in to a good deal on a 04 Tundra from a Fourm member. A trip to Prescott and she was mine.

When I got her...

As soon as she hit the drive way the running boards came off...

And all the extra stuff I removed....

Now I need to find a helpful Tundra Forum, And pleas don't say TundraTalk. That site just freezes my computer and its all 2nd Gen guys...

Thanks

...just don't start calling it a "Tundy". :smilies27

www.tundrasolutions.com has lots of good info, but it's a little difficult to navigate. -I've gone there a few times, and I've always been able to find whatever info that I needed for my Wife's Tundra.

Congatulations on your new truck! Your gonna love it!

I think you'll be real happy with your Tundra. I've had mine now for about 6 months and am real pleased with it. I came from the old solid axle school, and was only about 80% sure I did the right thing when I bought ours. But my brother in law Jim (jim65wagon) had such good luck with his Tundra and the extra cab room and improved gas mileage (over my Ram) of the DC won me over. So now after working it's tail off, running the muck of Michigian's Drummond Island, putzing around the forest roads and logging trails here in PA, and blasting around the beach in the Core banks of NC just last weekend I've really begun to love this truck. My only complaint is that the rear leafs are to lightweight, but a set of Deavers is in the plans to fix that.

Here on the Portal check out jim65wagon's and Roundout's Tundra threads. Both are quite informative and concise with some good info therein. On Tundrasolutions, Devinsixtyseven has a great fact file for the first generation Tundras and was a great help when it came time to set up my own Tundra. There is some good info on that forum but you have to wade threw some real fluff to get to the meat.

Just remember Real Toyota trucks can hual a sheet of plywood flat between the fenderwells and pack a V8! :sombrero:

Congrats, that is a good looking truck. I absolutely love my Tundra. The ride quality and comfort is better then many of the new trucks I've driven and mine is a 2000 with 160,000 miles on it. My only complaint really are the exhaust manifolds which on the early trucks were prone to cracking, supposedly that isn't the case with the newer ones. I've already convinced myself that when I replace mine it is going to be with another first gen Tundra, probably the double cab. Enjoy!

Thanks guys I love it so far. But as a little test for its new owner the Tundra ripped a belt on day two of me owning it. Funnything was I looked at the belt and thought "That thing looks a little old" Sure enough not a block from the house she lets go. Easy enough fix though.

I have already taken out the larger part of the rear seat for the dogs and plans are in the works for blacking out the wheels and all the chrome. Cirrently looking for a light bar to mount a coupe HID lights on as well.

LOL!!!! That whole "tundy" thing wa a bit over-dramatic.

The new 10th anniversery layout is a bit different but, you can change it back to the old style by scrolling to the bottom and choosing TS Fluid Width.

I love my 1gen but, my family and friends think a bit differently. Until they need something hauled or need my truck for something.

Great buy on the rig! The rig looks very clean. Look forward to seeing a build thread soon?!?!

If you need a link to the full service manual, you can download it for free here: http://www.ncttora.com/fsm/

I'm also a member of tundrasolutions.com, same username as here.

Congrats on the "new" truck! Rock solid Toyota reliability (excepting that belt!) and one of the best V8s ever made. Enjoy!
