Did any Gen2.5 come from the factory with body color matching lower cladding? Or would that be a respray?

Nope, it's all paint. Cladding on a vehicle would indicate it would be a removable layer, usually plastic, like on an early Grand Cherokee for example. I was hoping the same thing when I began looking a few years ago but it is indeed painted on.

Thanks for the reply, but more specifically, there wasn't a non two tone option from the factory? I'm looking at a new rig and trying to determine if it has been resprayed. The cladding is body colored. It's not in my neck of the woods, so I can't inspect it in person.

That's what I thought. It's a nice specimen in the photos, but the painted portion scares me since I can't see it in person. Thanks for the input.

Are you referring to the one for sale by a forum member or somewhere else? If you post a link you may get better feedback on the vehicle, and if someone lives close to it they may offer to look it over for you.

Looking for that thing i just had in my hand...
Gen 2.5's don't have body cladding, the lower doors and rockers are a sticker and the rears are stamped into the sheetmetal. The only plastic is on the rear door lower section. None in the US were color matched, the Puerto Rican models however were but they are flat sided
