Northern Mexico: A quiet village, a bucket of Tecate, and the two of us

There is a road we didn't complete due to the crisscrossing trails that confused me. I wouldn't really want to do that solo.

I think you are talking about the road between Sasabe and Caborca!:wings:

Almost. Not quite.

The road to Caborca from Sasabe is a straight shot on a wide dirt road, the left most white-gray dashed road on the map I attached. Minor washboarding. LOADED with 15-passenger vans full of people ready for a long hike. If you know what I mean. The amount of traffic on that road is unbelieveable, as every vehicle you pass will be a van packed to the brim with people looking to go north. And I'd say we passed 20 or so vans in those 70 miles.

I attached a picture of one of your maps. The white-gray dashed road from Sasabe to Saric doesn't exist. There are minor roads indicated on the map between that white-gray road to Saric and the border. Those exist in some fashion. Some lonely ranches are out there, and the road we were on took us into an impressive canyon.

Awesome - this is some classic "off the beaten path down in old Mexico" material. The pics are wonderful as always. That shot of the guys playing futbol on the beach... man! Hats off to you and the SCC.

I love Mexico.
