Ocotillo & Yuha Desert Run: 11-2-08

Rendezvous Conspiracy
I drove out to Ocotillo sunday morning to meet a friend in his FJ. The plan was to access a few trails into the Jacumba Mountains from the desert floor. Unfortunately, they were all blocked by a locked gate. I supppose that's because the route head down into Mexico. We dropped down into Pinto Wash to find the border marker, but the border had been graded into a huge, wide, smooth road. My guess is that its in preparation for a fence or something. We ran into several Border Patrol and one advised us to stay a bit north of the road. Afterwards we drove towards Ocotillo and found some fun rocky trails.
