Odyssey PC2150 into D2 Ground Strap Extension?

Just picked up a PC2150 to put in my truck. I undertand that the ground strap needs to be extended to make it fit. Just looking for details on this. Do I need just a short piece of copper bar, or do I need to make up a whole short grounding cable? Just want to get the supplies together before I pull the battery.

Thanks,

I just made a new, longer ground strap for my battery, left the old stock one in place for some reason...

They're pretty easy to make. You need to grab two terminals, cable and a crimper. If you have a electrical shop or a boat shop they should have everything.

Oh, where does the other end of the existing strap bolt too? From what I saw, one end is bolted to the battery, then after a few inches it has a crimped on steel bracket/chassis ground, then the cable snakes down into the darkness.

I assumed it was the steel bracket that needed to be extended? If it's the whole cable, do you know the overall length, and what did you do about that chassis ground/bracket?
