We’re selling our heavily built up, off-road oriented 2016 Casita Spirit Deluxe. We purchased this from the builder/owner back in September 2023 as a change from a pricey, fully self-contained rig we were paying on. They only sold to us in order to upgrade to a more fancy, Oliver camper.
Prior to their ownership was 1 party in Texas that very rarely used it since buying new in 2016 and otherwise stored in an enclosed space. Now that my wife and I are both working again, we are missing the style of camper/truck we used before and are looking to find the Casita a new home.
The prior owner/builder did an absolutely incredible and thoughtful job with it, and we’ve only done some minor maintenance or fun upgrades since owning, which I’ll detail below the meat of the description. As such, a lot of this will sound very similar to the sale thread we purchased from, as not a lot has changed.
There’s a very detailed build thread, linked below, which any interested parties should read through in full to completely understand the build and modifications that have gone into this trailer. This trailer was stored in an enclosed storage unit prior to our ownership and has been covered since.

Its small size and width is well utilized in the woods, mountains, city, campgrounds, or generally anywhere you can drive your to vehicle. From hitch to rear bumper the trailer is 17’. The rear platform extends another 30”. The overall width is 6’8”, which is similar to most vehicles. It tows incredibly well and tracks to the same radius as the vehicle. Fully loaded with groceries, gear, fuel, and water, it’s right about 4,060 lbs at around a 360 lb hitch weight. (I could be off with the 23gal of fresh water, as I’m not sure that was in the PO’s calculation. So, it may be more like 4,250 lbs with water and 375-385 hitch weight.) In any case, it’s pulled very well behind our 2015 4runner, even more so with the new weight distribution hitch.
A few highlights:
1. Fully reinforced frame with 3x2” rectangular tubing
2. 3500# axle replaced with 5200# axle + shocks and welded lift blocks professionally installed.
3. 31“ Toyo ATII Tires and full size spare on 15” wheels (sits around 5” higher than a stock Casita)
4. Rear platform for storage and full size spare
5. Front platform (Stromberg) that holds a 12 gallon fuel cell for a generator (generator not included, it also fits on the tray)
6. Propane tanks were upgraded to twin, 30# tanks
7. Converter was switched to a progressive dynamics (PD 4645VL 45 Amp) to allow a lithium battery
8. Battleborn 100ah lithium battery, Renogy 1000w inverter and bluetooth battery monitor (wiring diagram included)
9. Added factory propane furnace
10. Added Katy’s Closet (Custom closet for Casita’s, approx. $750)
11. Tinted windows
12. Fiamma f45s awning
Casitas are fully fiberglass trailers, so there should never be any leaks. Despite the 17’ hitch to bumper length they have:
1. AC (I believe it’s the Coleman Mach 8500btu – It does have a heat strip which works very well)
2. Fridge/Freezer that runs off AC/DC/Propane
3. Microwave
4. Stove – 2 burners
5. Sink
6. Inside toilet & shower
7. Tank sizes are as follows: Fresh 23gal, Black 15 gal, Grey 32 gal
8. TONS of organized storage, including the Katy's closet addition
9.Outside shower
Specifically, since our ownership, we added or performed the below maintenance:
There’s a little box of items we keep in the Casita with spare rivets if they ever needed on the fly replacement as well as a new rivet tool. We haven’t had to replace any, aside from the new switches we installed. Also, there are many receipts available to support work or purchases.
Listed at $39,000 $36,500 and located in Atlanta metro area, Georgia.
We’re definitely not desperate to sell and will happily keep using it, until the right offer and party comes along. We’ve been in quite a few trailers, and we believe that this trailer’s size, amenities, and updates to increase capability far exceeds many other trailers in this price range.

- Wheel Bearings were re-packed, just to know exactly when they were last done. Spare new and pre-packed bearing will be included
- The PO had the brakes serviced, and we inspected to confirm they’re in great shape.
- Replaced the toilet flush valve as well as added a cutoff in the water line to the toilet.
- Added new LED lightbulbs throughout
- Added illuminated switches for the water heater and water pump
- Replaced A/C filters
- Inspected all external rivets – All are good and sealed up; rivet tool included
- Installed a Camco R3 Recurve Weight Distribution Hitch – Low profile to keep the ground clearance provided by the lift.
- Backup camera
- Mattress was removed to be able to use the dinette. There was a nice Ikea mattress in place of the factory cushions for the entire life of the camper. Meaning, the cushions are BRAND NEW still.
- We removed the TV, but you can add one back if you wish, as the mounting points are still there.
- We also pulled out the microwave to use that area for pantry storage, but it can come with the sale, if you want it.
