Off-road'ish Benroy teardrop build

I've wanted an off-road camper for some time now. I've read through a lot of the builds here and other places. After long consideration, I have realized that I won't be taking the trailer off-road. It'll be a base camp, if you will. After more searching, I landed on the Benroy teardrop. It was the look and design that convinced me. I bought the plans and have finally started my build.

My question involves the rear leaf spring shackle. Should it be prependicular?

Or angled?

With weight on it, angled towards the rear. I'm using a truck frame and the stock shackles look straight up when the weight is off the springs but angled towards the rear when its sitting on the tires

For the best ride and most articulation, at ride height (aka loaded weight) you should have about a 45* shackle angle. This isn't a steadfast rule but a good point.
