Oil Filter 3.5 liter

Greetings:

I have a 1994 Montero 3.5 liter V6. Any recommendations for oil filter? I have always used OEM or Napa Gold. Considering the K&N and/or Mobile One filter?

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!!

Stick with O.E They have a internal pressure relief valve and will hepl reduce lifter noist at idle.

IIRC, K&N, Mobil both have the pressure relieve valve as well although i'm not sure if it's better or worse than the OEM unit.

I haven't purchased the OEM unit but I've purchased both the K&N & Mobil filters and aside from cosmetic differences including a 3/8" socket hole at the end of one of them (the K&N I think) both appear identical.

I've heard good things about the Napa Gold filter but that was from Colorado Select's podcast. Unfortunately Colorado Select is an association of Napa stores so the reliability of their comments may or may not be suspect when it comes to self promotion although on the surface they've always seemed trustworthy.

WIX is a great filter brand. They make the Napa Gold filters. Wix #51334 , Napa Gold # 1334. 8-11 psi bypass valve setting, 280 psi burst rating, 21 nominal micron rating, anti-drainback valve.
