On board air in a 2000 4runner

A few weeks ago I finished an OBA install in my 2000 4runner and earlier today I finally got around to doing a write up. For the install I mounted a SuperFlow MV-50 behind the trim panel in the driver's side of the trunk. No storage space was taken up, and I was able to retain the functionality of the stock cabin vent.

...my only concern would be that the MV-50 gets hot - HOT - HOT (as I'm sure you know). Great install!

Your article doesn't mention how the compressor is secured. Is that double-sided adhesive tape in that 1 picture?

Since the compressor is directly in the flow of the cabin vent there is air circulating past it as long as the fan is on or a window is open. So far I haven't experienced any heat issues.

The compressor is bolted to the sheet metal using rubber bushings to minimize the transmission of vibrations.

Just a quick update... I used the compressor to air up all tires from 18psi to 35psi after a trail run this weekend. There was no noticeable heat build up and the outside and interior panels were not warm at all.

I've used it quite a bit over the last year and it has held up extremely well with no issues. In the next week or two I'm planning to convert my trailer hitch into a ~1 gallon air tank and feed the compressor into that.
