Ordered A Set Of New Tires

Order a set of Super Swamper TrXus M/t tires. I already have the 34" LTB's mounting on a spare set of rims..... which I'm trying to get rid of for that matter....

From what I understand this is a relatively new tire from Interco, should be great. :sombrero:

A few guys are running those up here, and from what I've herd they like the tread pattern. Not as open as the TSL, but I bet they're a lot quieter than the TSL on the road. Post up your impressions.

It's been out at least since late '05.

What size are you getting?

I liked the set I had in 265/75R16; until I had three sidewall failures in 8 months.

I have a couple friends who used to use them. I'd be curious to hear your comparison vs the LTBs.

I have been running those on my Range Rover and before that my Disco II for about 4 years. They are a really good compromise between a street and off road tire. They also do really well in the ice and snow too. I think you'll enjoy them.

Those have been out since 03. I remember when I was a junior in high school a friend of mine got them on his cherokee.

Guess that's what you get when you use the information you get off of Atlantic British. :sombrero:

Didn't buy them from their however, got a great price on them in my opinion. At least compared to every other tire that 'I' don't consider to be nearly as good. They're already shipped out and should be here Tuesday, can't wait.

I had a set on my Xterra and really liked them. The wear like a super swamper so rotate them, but the are much nicer on the road.

why'd you get rid of the TSLs? Didn't balance? I think I am going to go with 285/75 SSRs next time around, or hopefully by that time 35x10.5 SSRs :ylsmoke:

Haven't gotten rid of them yet. In the process of trying to however. Only reason I want to get rid of them is I never use them. Around here there is nothing that justifies spending the time and effort to switch wheels and then switch back when we're done. They're practically brand new and don't want them just sitting there going to waste.

I picked up a set of 235/85/16's when they first came out many years ago. Like you, I experienced 3 sidewall failures within a few short months. I then switched to Goodyear MT/R's and the failures stopped. I'm guessing my failures might have been due to some early design problems, but could be wrong.

I've been running them since 2003. They came out in 2002, IIRC. Not new. IMO, the best dual purpose tire on the market. Lots of hard off roading, zero failures. Good, predictable traction on all surfaces. Also two of my wheeling friends run them with the same results.

There was a rash of bad tires in around 2005, but I believe they have gotten past the quality control issue.

I'd like some more, especially in 255/85R16. Those failures were horsesh!t, though, as I ate over $450 worth of tires when they shrugged and offered no explanation.

Hmm, you too huh? I didn't realize that there was a bad run of tires, I just thought I ruined them when I was dismounting them. They were 255/85R16 too. I still have three band new tires sitting next to my house with shredded beads because I don't have the heart to throw them out yet.

Well, to my surprise they have already arrived. Yesterday morning in fact. Can't beat shipping like that. :sombrero:

Of course you should know I had to go get them installed yesterday as well.

As luck would have it I've already gotten to drive in the rain with them, and through a little mud. While they are impressive enough with that, I just can't get over the fact that it doesn't 'feel' like I'm driving down the road with this aggressive of a tire on the vehicle. Truly very little noise and handle no different on the corners than the Dueler tires they had replaced.

With that being said, they don't play around cutting through the loads of standing water we seem to have on streets around here. What little mud I encountered on the 'trail' didn't seem to be any different either, as to be expected.

..and yes. They are Roverdog's German cousin approved. (That is, if he wasn't so busy paying attention and giving the dog across the street dirty looks. :D)
