Hi. I am new to overlanding. I have a 2005 Tahoe I am slowly outfitting to be my family overlanding rig. I have a trailer well suited to offroad adventures, with a CVT tent on top. I am looking for anyone who has suggestions for Oregon overlanding routes. I have not been able to locate route information. I've heard theres a route from Bend to Coos Bay an would like to try it, or anything else that you may know of. Thanks in advance.
I just finished route 3. It goes from Dorris, CA to Hoodoo, OR. I have certain disabilities so most of my expeditions have to be limited to a week or less. If you take a look at .oohva.org it has some routes that you could do in most 4x4's off the show room floor. Now that being said, be aware weather and timing can affect all journey's. I just got home yesterday after doing this trip and we ran into about mile or so of 4-6' of snow or more. Now you can bypass a lot of these if you have maps of the area and do a little side exploring. If you wanted to take a look I have posted my trip over here = toyota-4runner.oprg /3rd-gen-t4rs/ - Kotrin's 3rd Gen adventure thread. Feel free to hit me up with any questions or concern's as between myself and my dad we have done almost all of the OOHVA routes =).
If your looking for people to overland with, I would love to do an adventure with you. I have to go with someone due to my medical issues, but I do know lots go out on their own and just plan, prepare and execute it!
PS - can't post links yet =\
