Orientation of Isolator in Benchmark Design Stage 3 Dual Battery Kit

I purchased a 2010 4 door JK Wrangler.

I need some advice as to the orientation of the isolator in relationship to the BenchMark Dual Battery set-up.

I am installing the BenchMark Design Stage 3 Dual Battery Kit using Sears Platinum PM-2 deep cycle marine batteries. The batteries are in and fit with little room to spare. The engine is now running but only wired for a single battery.

I AM CONFUSED AS THE THE ORIENTATION OF THE ISOLATOR IN ITS RELATIONSHIP TO THE "MAIN" AND "DUAL" BATTERIES.

It easiest to make the engine side battery my "main battery" for attaching the OEM battery wiring. This then makes the passenger side battery my "auxilliary" battery. John from Benchmark also suggested this same arrangement for the batteries.

Please look at the instructions that John sent me.

The isolator with the 3 wire pigtail is pointed towards the firewall of the vehicle. This orientation has the labels on the isolator showing the "main" as being passenger side and the "auxilliary" as being engine side of the vehicle. This would seem to be wrong for this battery orientation.

Please look at this photo of the isolator on the dual battery.

With the 3 wire pigtail pointed towards the front of the vehicle, please notice that the labels on the isolator now show the "main" as being engine side and the "auxilliary" as being passenger side of the vehicle. This would appear to be correct for this battery installation. However, this is the exact opposite orientation of the attachment that John sent me.

I tried calling John but keep getting his answering machine. He did respond via email suggesting pigtail towards the firewall but with no explanation as to why this does not match the labeling on the isolator that he sent with the kit.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I just want to confirm what has worked for others before doing the final hook up.

Thanks you.
