Hi Everyone,

I thought I would share a link to our trip to South Africa and Namibia.

We had a great time but our trip had some excitement as we were dealing with border closures due to whole COVID 19 thing.

This is the first part of a multi part series.

Enjoy,

Sean

Hi thank you for the inspiration, I see that you had a very good time. I would like to visit Africa too. In general, I'm in love with traveling. This year will be a hard one, actually, it is a hard one. And I think that such stories will help us to pass over no traveling period. I found on the internet some resources for digital nomads at least to plan my future trip with all details. I don't know when it will be but at least I plan it. I would like to go to Norway. Nature there is unbelievable. I hope that I'll go there in the nearest future.

Great write-up on your blog. Definitely on the bucket list!!!

I have read a few trip accounts of people renting well kitted out overlanding trucks in Africa. Any words of wisdom or lesson's learned from your experience?

The hardest part of visiting Africa is just
Deciding to do it!!!!
4x4 community forum.za is a great place
For information,questions .
The only real mistake you can make is
Not to fulfill your dreams!!!
Go for it!!!

Sorry to have taken so long to reply. We rented our rig from Bushlore in Cape Town, but they also have locations in Johannesburg, Botswana, and Namibia. We were very impressed with their set up. It came with just about everything we needed for the trip. Sleeping bags, cooking utensils and dish ware, propane for cooking, mini fridge... We only brought 1 bag of additional gear. We brought, our own headlamps and flashlights, sleeping bag inserts, bug repellent, our water purifier (of course!), a line for hanging laundry, a bag for doing laundry by hand... We also brought a few meals of freeze dried food as an emergency back up. We brought that with us as I know freeze dried is either eaten or hated. We pre tasted the meals we liked, scored them and then brought the ones we knew everyone would eat. We provisioned for food locally which was very affordable and good quality. Please don’t hesitate to ask if you have any more questions, we would be more than happy to provide info.
