Hey Guys,
I'll keep this brief and come back with some more detailed updates but I was anxious to introduce myself.
The name is Brian, I have had a few "rigs" in the past. I had a 1998 Jeep Cherokee for a decade; ultimately it was 3-Linked with 4.88 Gears, Rear LSD, Front ARB Air Locker, Armor, 33s, etc.... I also had a 1994 Toyota Land Cruiser that I had performed a lot of refurbishment on as well as installed a 2.5" TJM Progressive Rate Lift Kit with TJM Shocks and TJM Offset, Rubber Control arm Bushings and some 285/75/16 Goodyear Duratracs... Another fun little adventure rig was my old 2003 Subaru Forester XS Premium that I had lifted 1" with Paranoid Fabrications Strut Spacers and some 215/70/16(28") Yokohama Geolander All Terrains... I ultimately have parted with all and had planned to start my next project on our 1998 Toyota 4Runner SR5 V6 4x4. I just never felt the love.... I missed the capability of my Jeep, the size and utility of my FZJ80 and the Styling and Usability of my Forester...
SOooo, Now I have purchased a 1999 Mitsubishi Montero to replace them all; it looks like my 2003 Forester on Steroids, it has all of the Goodies of the Land Cruiser, and it has the narrow body and is capable of having the capability of my Jeep.
The Truck is:
1999 Montero
3.5
Auto
Winter Package with OEM Air Locker.
I got it with 230,000 miles for a very good price. Everything works although she does need some TLC. This one will be with me a long time. I plan on doing a fairly intense Refurbishment, Sport 4.90 Gears and some 33x11-12.5 Tires for now. Armor, Bumpers, etc.. as time and funds allow. It will get me through the mountains, drive me to the west coast, South America, and more; then it will get me back home.
Im a family man, two kids, a dog, a cat, etc... This will be our family excursion rig. Beach Trips, Wheeling Trips, Long Vacations, and my Kayaking Rig (I whitewater Kayak).
Im anxious to chat with you guys and get this guy going!!!!
and one each of some of my oldies....
Cheers!!!
