I bought this jeep back in 2009 shortly before getting married to my wife. The plan for this jeep has always been 1. To daily drive it 2. Eventually take the family on camping trips 3. Eventually I want to do a 6-7 day expedition style trip. so most modifications lean that direction.

The Jeep:
1997 Cherokee

Drive train:
4.0L H.O., Aisin Warner ax15 5 speed manual, New Process 231, high pinion Dana 30 4:56 gears auto locker, Chrysler 8.25 4:56 gears auto locker, Teraflex hand throttle kit, Brown Dog Offroad motor mounts

Suspension:
Iron Rock Offroad 6.5" lift coils, Iron Rock Offroad leaves, DirtBound Offroad Mid arm kit, DirtBound Offroad shackles, Fox 2.0" factory series reservoir shocks, Rubicon Express stainless steel brake lines, Currie Enterprises Johnny Joint replacement for jeep D30 bushing, Currie Enterprises Antirock sway-bar, Currie Enterprises Johnny joint track bar.

Steering:
Currie Enterprises Rock Jock steering

Armor:
Dirtbound Offroad rear side armor, Dirtbound Offroad 97+ gas tank skid, Dirtbound Offroad belly pan skid, DirtBound Offroad rock sliders, Ruff stuff Specialties XJ chassis rail, DirtBound Offroad front frame stiffeners, DirtBound Offroad rear frame stiffeners, DirtBound Offroad front steel tube flares with fender armor, C-Rok steering box reinforcement plates

Bumpers:
DirtBound Manta Ray front winch, DirtBound Manta Ray expedition tire carrier

Wheels and Tires:
Procomp Rock Crawler series 15x7 steel wheels, BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A 33/10.5R15

Lighting:
Vision X OPTIMUS SERIES PRIME TWO 10W LEDS LIGHT, Strobes N' More E4 and E6 led surface mount strobe.

still on the modifications list:
rear tube flares, cargo area modifications, roll cage, 35" tires, low profile roof rack,

this is a few weeks after i got her i had just put the 3" bastard lift on and did some triming to the plastics

how she sits today:

my drawer that holds my water jackets blankets and knife ect. the mount on the right holds a 20lb Co2 tank still working on finding a latch for the drawer.

Very nice! I've had a Cherokee and a Grand Cherokee in the past, they were real good rigs for what you propose. Comfortable, reliable and capable.

My oldest son is using a really well set up 1998 Cherokee now, some similarities to your setup. His has front & rear Ox lockers and 33x12.50's with a real compliant suspension. I thoroughly enjoy driving it, or riding with him in it. We've got some pretty serious overlanding planned for it next summer:

Am looking forward to seeing the further exploits of your "Sarge" Cherokee!

Regards, Guy

Looks nice! I used latches like this on my drawer, I like it, a pull and latch in one.

does appear to be a nice latch seems a bit pricey I wouldn't of said that a year ago buy my wife and i had twin daughters 6 months ago so my jeep fund isnt where it used to be.
