I had high expectations for this trip..

Our first night destination was below Silver City, Idaho. With the sun setting we decided we had better find a camp site below the snow line

First nights camp wasn't ideal, but with fading light and the snow falling, it was good to get a fire going and start cooking dinner

Because of the snow, our not so fearless leader in the blue cherokee decided not to take the jeep trail out of Silver City and down the mountain. Instead we headed on the maintained road to Jordan Valley....could have brought the Mini Van:smilies27

We ran into alot of closed and locked gates with NO TRESPASSING SIGNS

We had to find alternate routes to take

It was a fun trip despite the weather. We were a bit disapointed in all the no trespassing signs and plan on contacting the local BLM office to see if this were in fact private lands or just leased. We will go back again to see more.

Thanks for the report. Look like (cold) fun. What is the location of the canyon in the photo with the 15:04 time stamp?

We drove through that area last year in the second half of May. During the Jordan Valley rodeo weekend it was hot enough to use air conditioning, but then a cold front blew through. We got snow flurries on the drive out of Succor Creek, and again later in the day when we visited Silver City. I opted to spend that night at an RV park in Jordan Valley.

Next time i'll definatly go before deer season opens. The hills around Silver City were crawling with guys in orange. I woke up around 4:30 am on Sat. to the sound of a ATV zooming down the road...dosn't anyone hunt off roads anymore? Lost of knuckel heads glassing the sides of the hills from the comfort of there trucks!

:smiley_drive: Great stories from this trip!

Funniest thing is the prior weekend when I was out (45 Ranch to 3 Forks), it was 82 F! I drank 2 gallons of ice water on Friday alone (thx engle)!
