We will just say that this whole build has been happening over the last 5 or 6 years really. All my threads have been (poorly) documented over on the wire, but I'm transferring everything over here to the portal. About 6 years ago, I blew the engine in my 88 montero and the 2.6 engine never went back in it. I swapped a 3.5l DOHC out of a 95 SR into it and the truck woke up from the dead. Videos, pics, and some minor info on the swap here. If you have interest in doing this same swap and have questions, just ask.

So after you get through that cluster, maybe you will have more interest in what I'm doing with the rest of the drivetrain. Basically, 3.5l engine, 91 lwb auto transmission (hydraulic lock up torque converter), np231 B4R doubler kit to a dana 20 transfer case. 7:1 low range....for now. Axles, rear is a 98 sport 9" rear with 4:90's, spring over conversion, and an ARB. Front is SAS'd with a 80 jeep wagoneer dana 44, 4:88's, spool, and soon to be hydraulic assist. I will update this thread later with new pics, but I linked most of the work done, and more has been done over the last year by toasty and I. Lots of work has gone into this rig and plenty more to go. Lots of az crew dudes pitched in on helping this project along.

Hopefully these links work.
