I don't drive a lot of sporty vehicles. I think my Tacoma is pretty quick and fun to run through the gears. This thing is a gorilla in a prom dress! Then there is the higher pitched voice of the V12… even after a few hours of driving I still had to consistently fight my gut instinct to shift into higher gears. Yet you have to stick to 3rd or 4th gear or your velocity will get out of hand in a hurry. It requires constant physical effort to stay within respectable range of the speed limit. Its like hanging out with Andre the Giant. Always accidentally smashing and breaking things because he's such a monstrous freak of nature. You feel invincible because he's got your back. It's insanely cool.

V12, "Want to go faster? How about now? Can we go faster now?"

We'll check in tomorrow...

In the morning we'll finish what we didn’t complete today and assess what’s next over lunch. Over the next few days we need to head towards Dallas and then into Big Bend NP. Dad was very generous with time behind the wheel today. Who knows what will happen tomorrow... driving? riding along? Who cares!

Until then.

VERY cool! It puts my old 968 'way in the shade, so I know it's gotta be fun!!!

One belated caution. The BRP is basically a long skinny National Park, so any ticket is a _federal_ bust. It's not heavily patrolled, but they are out there.

IMO, you've still got the prettiest part of the P'way to go.... Mt Pisgah to the Waterrock Knob area. But the weather doesn't look much like cooperating.

Good luck with the rest of the trip!

I LOVE the BRP! One of the best paved roads in the US. I am jealous...I have driven a '01 Ranger, '83 Horizon, '88 Omni, '97 4-Runner, and a '92 Cavalier on the BRP...never a Ferrari!

Looks like a great trip in a fantastic Ferrari.

I hate that I'm late to this thread as I would have pointed you to HWY 123 from Fontana NC into TN. 318 twisty tight mind bending curves in 11 miles -also known as "The Dragon". Perfect territory for this car.

I used to own a modified Mini Cooper S and never found the limits of the car on that road-I found mine many times-but never the cars!

I can just hear that V-12 echoing off the canyon walls out west-what a sound.
