Pajero/shogun/Montero JW Speaker 8700 Evo 2 LED

I chose to invest in these headlights, as they really are the only LED lights that I like and fit and that should have the light output that I need even when driving around home. It's pretty black in the countryside in the UK, plus when I go travelling in the wilderness I've got the confidence in my lights. I'm keeping the Lightforce 240's over buying LED, mainly because of the look. These haven't been purchased on a whim either, I've researched for the best part of a year and saved my hard earned money to get the best. Maybe the first in the world on a shogun?

Looks great! How strong are the recovery points you have bolted to the ARB bumper? I have thought of doing the same.

Thanks for the replies, I will post some new pics soon with bracketry and with them on. Mitsubishi have switched earth, so they have to be wired through 30amp relays, which I'm just working out. Just put some bonnet vents in yesterday too, as the heat from the V6 needs to escape somewhere, every little helps.

I remember seeing this monster. Very cool build and I like the lights. I went with Rigid lights and a "factory" style switch. Still needed the 30A relay, though.

Ok, in answer to some questions.

- Front recovery points are bullet proof, strong backing plates seam welded behind bumper with 10mm steel plate.
- see picture for headlamp brackets actually fabricated from some Bowler Wildcat headlamp brackets although any flat aluminium plate would be good. I wanted a laser cut hole for the lamp
- the plate stands off on 4 x 30mm steel tube that's been tapped for 4 x M6 bolts from both sides on driver an passenger sides.
- headlight round brackets are Wipac Range Rover items for any 7" headlamp
- Front mudflaps are standard Mitsubishi Items
- Rear mudflaps are front Land Rover 90 items that are basically just square rubber items 4mm thick
- Bonnet vents fitted today are Ford Focus RS items. My engine is 3.5 V6 and just needed something to let the excess heat out the engine bay. image.jpgimage.jpg

Well here we have it - wired up all working and what can I say is WOW!!! Anyone thinking of upgrading their lights to LED, do it to JW Speaker.

I've just come back from an hours drive in pitch black, and they are superb. They literally live up to the accolades of being the best 7" LED lights on the market. If only I was getting paid to say this stuff. Unfortunately not.

Rather than spending £800 a pair on led spots or a light bar that you only use when on main beam, buy these for £500 and they are on all the time and driving behind them is like daylight. You don't actually need any extra fog lights, spot lights, light bars. But saying that, my lightforce 240 Blitz are staying for sentimental reasons.
One happy owner.

I've got a '92 SWB Pajero diesel, and am looking at going with JW Speaker 8700 EVO 2 Dual Burn light to replace the crappy HID kit mine came with when I bought it. But in looking at this thread, are the JW Speaker 8700s not plug-and-play?

I installed the square 8900 EVO2 on my 2001 Jeep Cherokee and all I had to do was remove the OE headlights and replace them with these.
