Hello All,

I have a nice CF-71 Toughbook that I'm thinking of parting with. You can learn all about these legendary laptops online, so on to the specifics.

600Mhz Pentium 3
384MB RAM (128+256)
12GB HDD
CD/DVD Drive (also includes swappable Panasonic Superdrive)

Includes:
AC Adapter
12V DC Adapter
Port Replicator

It does not include an Operating System. I took a few pictures do demonstrate that it is working (currently running Windows XP Pro), but I will format the 12GB hard drive so you will need to supply an OS. The original hard drive caddy and gel pack are still present, so you can upgrade to a larger drive if you prefer. The hard drive and battery are very easy to access. Just unlock the palm rest and flip it open.

It does not include a good battery. The battery will not hold a charge. The battery comes with it, but it is only useful as a paperweight now. You can still find a replacement battery, but depending on how you wish to use it you may not need to purchase one as it works fine running on the adapter.

Overall, the laptop is in excellent shape. The screen and keyboard are excellent. The hinges are great, the handle is solid and the plastic covers are intact. The paint is worn a little on the edges and it has a few light scuffs, but considering the age it is very nice. I always kept it stored in a laptop bag and tried to keep it safe and clean.

By today's standards it is not a super-fast machine, but it will get the job done if you don't need massive processing power or plan on using it for gaming. On the other hand, this is a pretty stout laptop with a solidly crafted handle...try beating back that rabid pitbull with a wimpy toy netbook.

I used it mostly around the house and for a brief time as my wardriving rig. I can see this being used as an in-vehicle computer that you wouldn't need to worry too much about, or to surf with at home, or as a weapon, or maybe a wheel chock.

I would like to see $150 for it, given the condition and extras. I live just outside of Atlanta, Georgia and I would prefer a local (Metro/N. Georgia) buyer, but if you just can't live without it I can arrange shipping on your dime.

PM me with questions, thoughts, riddles or haikus.

Sorry for the pic quality, my point and shoot battery died after a few and I switched to my iPhone. The screen is clear and nice but my iPhone makes it look a little blurry.

Price Drop!!!!

Apparently I'm asking too much for the Toughbook. Almost 100 views and no questions. How about $125?
